"Leaders with a weak will are given preference in public administration, however, given the problems in the country, these people will not be able to rule the state," ILNA quoted Iran's Former Prime Minister and presidential candidate Mir Hussein Moussavi as saying a meeting of Former Members of Iranian Parliament.
In his speech, a member of the Iranian Advisory Board Moussavi criticized President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. "Unfortunately, no action was taken with regard to the fact that the Government did not transfer funds worth $5.1 billion to $17 billion to the stats fund," Moussavi said.
He also stressed the need to change the foreign policy of Iran. "Unfortunately, today we took a position contrary to the international community. This causes problems for our people, especially for our youth. The sanctions, resolutions and tension connected with our policy have a negative impact on the psychology of our people. At all meetings the youth first ask about foreign policy. We must understand that we have tired people by wrongly chosen foreign policy," Moussavi said.
He said country in the world is not alone as Iran. "Scansion of slogans do not solve problems, we need the correct program. Unfortunately, today there is no true friend among our neighbors. We do not have to constantly create tension in the world," Moussavi said.
He also expressed regret that Iran did not become a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. "Iran has a natural right to become a member of this organization. But, unfortunately, we can not become a member because we create problems for all," Moussavi said.
