The Georgian-American Charter of the strategic partnership may become a determining factor in Georgia's joining NATO, Georgian Defense Minister David Sikharulidze said after the meeting with his U.S. counterpart Robert Gates.
"The parties discussed the security of Georgia, the situation in conflict regions, as well as the prospects for deepening relations between Georgia and the United States," Sikharulidze said.
He said deepening cooperation in the areas outlined in the Charter may become a determining factor in the entry of Georgia into NATO.
