Turkmenistan creates inter-branch commission within Kyoto protocol on climate change

The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered to create corresponding inter-branch commission within Kyoto protocol, official Turkmen source said.   

Upon the document commission is created with intent to draw modern technologies and foreign investments in national economy by realizing ecologically clean and power efficient technologies within mechanisms of clean development of Kyoto protocol of UN frame convention on change of climate.

Kyoto protocol was adopted in Kyoto (Japan) in December 1997 in addition to UN frame convention on change of climate. The document obliges developed countries and countries with transition economy to reduce or stabilize emission of greenhouse gases. As of March 2009 the protocol was ratified by 181 world countries (responsible for more than 61 percent of world emission).
