New U.S. administration to do best to protect Georgia from external threats

The new U.S. Administration will do everything to protect the Georgian population from external threats, the representative of the parliamentary minority in Georgia - Vice Speaker Paata Davitaia said after the meeting with Assistant Secretary of State Philip Gordon.

"I hope that the USA will provide full support for Georgia. Philip Gordon assured that the new White House Administration would do everything to ensure protection of Georgia from external threats," he said.
 
According to Davitaia, Gordon was interested in the work of the temporary parliamentary commission on investigation of August events, as well as the situation in the occupied territories.

Davitaia told what weapons Russia imported into the occupied territories and how it violated the rights of ethnic Georgians.
