The United States and Azerbaijan are ready for mutual support in the regional security issues.
"Each country struggles against terrorism in line with its own traditions. The United States and Azerbaijan have good opportunities to expand cooperation in this field," Major General (select) Tracy Garrett, Commander of U.S. Marine Forces Europe and Africa told journalists in Baku on June 24.
The Commander of U.S. Marine Forces Europe and Africa discussed with the officials of the Azerbaijani defense ministry opportunities of such cooperation.
"I am responsible for the United States' security in Europe and African countries, including in Azerbaijan," Garrett said. "The U.S. wants to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the field of land forces."
On June 23, Garrett arrived in Azerbaijan with a visit. As part of the visit, she met with members of the Azerbaijan Women's Bar Association and officials of the country's defense ministry.
