On June 24, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev watched the main phase of large-scale joint operational-tactical exercises of the troops and units of the Ministry of Defense, State Border Service and Interior Troops, held in honor of 91st anniversary of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
"Azerbaijani Army is a strong army. The process of strengthening the army is going well and with an accelerated rate," said Ilham Aliyev, making a speech after the military exercises.
"Today our army is the strongest in the region. If necessary, Azerbaijan can use its military power to restore its territorial integrity and it is our sovereign right. International law allows us to do it," said the head of state.
