My art is aimed at correcting false errors in Azerbaijan's history: Russian historian

Azerbaijan, Baku, July 3 / Trend , U.Sadikhova / My art is aimed at correcting the false errors in the history of Azerbaijan for the future generations, said Rudolf Ivanov, famous Russian historian-Caucasian, laureate of the Dostlug Order, at a meeting with journalists on July 3.

"I consider Azerbaijan my second homeland, and think that all my works must be devoted to Azerbaijan, since there is unique layers of history here," said the writer.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev awarded Rudolf Ivanov the Dostlug Order ("Friendship") for his services in strengthening cultural linkages between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation.

Rudolf Ivanov is a famous Russian historian-Caucasian, author of books on the personalities of Azerbaijani Army, veteran of World War II, professor, academician of International Academy of Informatization, member of the Union of Journalists and Writers of Russia, an honorary citizen of the Republic of Dagestan, Honorary Doctor of Institute of History of National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and Honorary Doctor of Nakhchivan State University of Azerbaijan.

His book titled "The name of the Union of Soviet" is a historical monograph about the Azerbaijani commander Jamshid Nakhchivanski.

The writer thanked the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva for the highest award - Dostlug Order. "I accept the award with gratitude, but I do not think that it sums up my activity, but I think that the award makes me obligated to work, as long as I shall live in this world and be able to do something," said Ivanov.
