On August 28, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev expressed condolences to the People's Artist of Russia Andrei Konchalovsky in connection with the death of his father - a classic of Russian literature, an outstanding poet and a great public figure, Sergei Vladimirovich Mikhalkov, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
"All the life and work of Sergei Vladimirovich Mikhalkov, his unique works are imbued with a genuine citizenship and patriotism. In the whole former Soviet Union, including Azerbaijan, many generations have grown and evolved in his work, singing the praises of the high ideals of morality, spirituality and humanity. I sincerely share the pain of your loss and grieve with you. Please convey my condolences to all relatives and friends of Sergey Vladimirovich," the letter by the Head of State says.
