The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) can answer the appeal from the Azerbaijani opposition group, the Civil Movement for Karabakh and the Republic. The movement made an appeal for a report on some Election Code articles.
The CEC comment on the Election Code articles is not unusual. It would be better if the political parties were to appeal to the relevant commission of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Director of Parliament's Law Department, Irada Hajiyeva, told Trend on Sept.2.
The Civil Movement for Karabakh and the Republic was established on the eve of the referendum held on March 18. The Popular Front of Azerbaijan, the Citizen and Development Party, Liberal Party, Democratic Party, the Musavat and Umid parties, as well as a number of public organizations, are represented in the Civil Movement for Karabakh and the Republic.
Azerbaijani municipal elections are scheduled for mid December, 2009.
Furthermore, Hajiyeva said she he has not received any appeal so far. "The CEC General Department may receive this appeal," she added.
The movement has made an appeal to the CEC, Chairman of the Citizen and Development Party, represented in the movement, Ali Aliyev, told Trend on Sept.2.
