The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) is devising the concept concerning the municipal elections.
"The party's regional organizations have begun to prepare for the elections. Some local organizations have established the election headquarters," the NAP Deputy Chairman and MP Ali Ahmadov told journalists on Sept. 5.
It is expected that the municipal elections in Azerbaijan will be held in mid-December.
The country's youth are not enough represented in the municipalities," said Ahmadov.
"The Azerbaijani youth and young party members must actively participate in the municipal elections. The party also created all the opportunities for women to widely join the municipalities," he said.
The municipalities are undergoing a process to improve their activities," he said. "This year our main goal is to increase work capacity of municipalities. The party has strengthened its work in this direction," said Ahmadov.
