Iran is interested in peace and security in the region, and the West is ready to hold a dialogue with Tehran, Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bild, who is chairing the EU, told Trend .

"Iran is interested to talk on World peace, Global security and Iran in the world, so we will talk about the world and Iran in the world," the minister said.

Brussels hosts the meeting of foreign ministers of the EU countries on Sept.15-16. The Iranian nuclear program is among the main topics of discussion

The U.S. and other Western countries accuse Iran of developing nuclear weapons under the guise of peaceful nuclear energy program. Tehran rejects these accusations, claiming that its nuclear program is aimed at meeting the country's electricity needs.

The UN Security Council adopted five resolutions, three of which are on the imposition of sanctions against Iran, requiring it to abandon uranium enrichment, and two resolutions contain the warning.
