The conference of the heads of the emergency situations agencies of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) in Baku has adopted a declaration.
The document reflects the prospects of cooperation among emergency situation agencies of the BSEC member-countries.
Today, on Sept. 18, Baku is hosting a conference of the heads of the emergency situations agencies of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).
The authority of Azerbaijan in the world and international organizations is growing every day, said Kamaladdin Heydarov, the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Minister, who opened the conference.
"This conference will strengthen the cooperation amongst the emergency situation agencies of the organization member countries," said Heydarov.
At present, the mechanism of removing consequences of emergency situations in the world is at an unsatisfactory level, said Altay Afandiyev, Deputy Secretary General of BSEC.
"Casualties resulting from disasters occurring in the world suggest that the mechanism used in the world emergency situation agencies is not justified. It needs to be improved in order to promptly prevent the possible human loss during disasters," said Afandiyev. The Baku conference will contribute to the improvement of this mechanism, believes.
Afandiyev said at the end of the conference, it is expected to adopt a declaration on joint cooperation of the BSEC countries' emergency situations agencies.
Joint inside-organizational cooperation of emergency situations agencies will contribute to the efficiency of removing consequences of disaster and will contribute to the improvement of the mechanism, said Vladimir Puchkov, the Russian Deputy Emergency Ministry said.
