Secretary of the Georgian National Security Council, Eka Tkeshelashvili and influential American Senator, John Lieberman, have discussed the Georgian-American relations and the threats that the country faces.

Georgia's ambassador to the U.S, Batu Kutelia and other officials attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed in detail the general situation in Georgia, particularly the situation in the occupied territories, Tkeshelashvili told journalists after the meeting.

"In addition, we talked about the threats coming from Russia and the international community's support in countering these threats, as well as the deepening partnership with the United States," Tkeshelashvili added.
