In the next few days, residents of the Iranian city of Tabriz and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan can cross the border by own cars without complying with the usual procedural rules, said Aliraza Baigi, ostandar (governor) of the Iranian province of Eastern Azerbaijan.

Baigi said that in this regard, in the coming days, the province of Eastern Azerbaijan and the NAR will sign and implement the agreement. "Under the agreement, the usual procedural rules provided for the residents of the city of Tabriz and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will be eliminated," said Baigi.

He said this agreement is beneficial for both parties and will play an important role in the economic development of Tabriz. "With the implementation of the points of agreement, the residents of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will not have problems with visiting Iran, particularly in connection with treatment," said Baigi.

"We aim to conclude similar agreements with other neighboring countries," he said.
