Turkmenistan and Tajikistan have made every effort to jointly address the topical issues in Central Asia, in particular, the rational use of water and energy resources, supply of water, food, environmental and other aspects of security.
The President of Turkmenistanm Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has made this statement at a meeting with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon, who had arrived in Turkmenbashi town on a two-day working visit.
According to the Turkmen leader, a favorable foundation for further strengthening the role of the two countries in international politics is "the unity or complete identity of views on major issues of regional and global geopolitics, relating primarily to maintain and strengthen peace and security."
The national television Turkmenistan-4 reported that in turn, Rahmon said that special attention should be paid to the opening of the UN Preventive Diplomacy Centre in Central Asia in Ashgabat.
