President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov presented the State award for contribution "in the development of fraternal relations" to the Adviser of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan Sultanzadeh Vahdet.

The Medal "Vatana bolan soygusi" ("For the love of Fatherland ") was awarded by the Head of State in a solemn ceremony in the presence of 3,000 audiences in the capital Palace Ruhiet.

The award was dedicated to celebration of the eighteenth anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. High awards were also presented to well-known archaeologist Viktor Sarianidi from Russia and vice-rector of the International Turkmen-Turkish University Zeki Pektashu.

The decree on awarding says that their "weighty contribution to strengthening the sovereignty and independence of Turkmenistan, enhancing its international authority, developing our country's science and education, and also great service to our independent neutral state in the development of fraternal and friendly relations" was appreciated in such a way.

Today in an interview with national television Turkmenistan-4, Sultanzadeh said: "I am a diplomat of 50 years, I am 75 years of age. I totally did not expect it. Receiving this award from the President of Turkmenistan gives me great joy. In Azerbaijan, I will be proud of and never forget. Ashgabat is a city of love, all who come here, especially people coming from Baku, leave their heart here.
