Georgia, Tbilisi, Oct. 29 / Trend , N.Kirtzkhalia/

The European Union monitoring mission confirmed the violation of so-called the administrative border between Georgia and South Ossetia by 16 Georgian citizens who were detained by Russia's border guards, the website of the mission reported.

The report said that the citizens of Georgia really crossed the administrative border, but not more than 100 meters, and their testimony confirm that they have committed no criminal, but administrative violations.

The EU monitoring mission believes that this incident does not require further investigation.

To prevent similar accidents in the future, the EU mission calls the Dusheti district police to expand cooperation with Russia's border guards, as well as offers to forest departments of Georgia and South Ossetia often to exchange information in order to avoid the facts of illegal logging.

The EU also calls to create a special extended system, which will facilitate the life conditions of local residents on both sides of the border.
