Daryalsky Valley population against opening Lars checkpoint
Georgia, Tbilisi, Nov. 19 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /
The population of the Stepantsmind village near the Daryalsky Valley will oppose the opening of the Lars checkpoint. They will hold an informational and demonstration campaign, event organizer Zaza Tsiklauri told journalists.
According to Tsiklauri, the population protests opening the checkpoint due to the threat of Russia occupying the Kazbegi region.
The National Security Council already released statements about opening the border. Although the decision has not been approved officially, the authorities have already decided to make the move, Tsiklauri said.
The campaign will take place at the house-museum of Alexander Kazbegi Nov.21 at 14:00.
