Azerbaijan, Baku, November 25 / Trend , K.Zarbaliyeva / The prospects of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland were discussed at a meeting held in Baku on Nov. 25.

Today Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Safar Abiyev met with the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Poland Bogdan Klich, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, the press service of the Ministry of Defense told Trend .

After visiting the grave of Heydar Aliyev and Alley of Martyrs, at the Defense Ministry was held a solemn welcoming of the Polish guest, was sounded the national anthemof both countries.

At a meeting held in presence of delegations, Minister Abiyev informed his Polish counterpart of the military-political situation in the region, problems that have arisen in connection with the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He stressed that as a result of occupation of Azerbaijani lands, more than one million Azerbaijani citizens have become refugees. For 15 years, negotiations have been held through the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group, but there is no result. In such circumstances, Azerbaijan's using its military potential to liberate its lands will become inevitable.

The meeting also covered the prospects for military education and military-technical cooperation between the two republics.
