On December 24, the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev made a telephone call to Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
The Russian leader congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his birthday and wished him robust health and successes in his activities. President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to his Russian counterpart for the congratulations and attention.
During the phone conversation, the Presidents praised the bilateral relations in 2009, and expressed confidence they would further develop.
During the telephone conversation, President Ilham Aliyev highly appreciated the activities of Russian President in resolving the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
