The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) called an opposition party's appeal groundless this week.
According to the CEC, violations noted by the Umid party during the municipal elections in several constituencies were not confirmed.
"The incidents mentioned in the appeal were disproved during explanations provided by CEC members who were present on voting day," the CEC Press Service told Trend today.
Municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan Dec. 23.
About 15,682 members were planned to be elected to 1,718 municipalities.
Municipal elections were held twice in 1999 and 2004.
