Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow has changed regional administration staff.

Rearrangements covered the central region of Akhal and the Balkan region. The main oil reserves are concentrated there and it borders with the Caspian Sea. The railway project North-South, Mary region - known for its gas resources and Dashoguz - is also an important transportation hub connected with it.

Akhal velayat (Region)

In particular, Allanur Oraznazarov became governor of the Ak Bugday district. Yazgeldy Annaev became governor of the Ruhabat district. Shamuhammet Durdylyev, who was earlier construction minister,  was appointed governor of the city of Ashgabat.

Balkan Province

Izim Izimov became governor of the Bereket district. A large-scale railway project building a road from Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran has started. It will create the shortest route from Central Asia to the Persian Gulf.

Mary Province

Turkmenistan's largest gas field - Southern Yoloten -  is located in the Mary region. Thus, Allamyrat Salyhov became governor of the Karakum region. Earlier, he was deputy governor of Karakum district. Annamyrat Porsyev became governor of the Mary district. He was dismissed as district governor of the Karakum district. Berdy Atamyradov became governor of the city of Mary - the regional center of the province. Earlier, he was deputy governor of this settlement.

Dashoguz province

Gochakov Yolly became governor of the Kunya Urgench district. Earlier he was deputy governor of the Gubadag district in the Dashoguz province. One of the Muslim holy places in is located in Kunya Urgench. Moreover, UNESCO included the archaeological site of ancient settlements located here in the World Heritage Site.
