Georgian space research scientist Tina Kahniashvili won a contest announced by NASA and was awarded with a large grant. Based on the three-year project, the scientist will study whether the known laws of physics acted upon the birth of the world. The grant is $500,000.

She said that she will use data from the Planck Satellite, which NASA launched in August 2009.

"Under the project we need to establish which scientific theories of the origin of the world is the most appropriate and correct," she said.

The professor at the Ilya Nesterovich Tbilisi University does not exclude that the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory will be integrated as a NASA partner.
