The international scientific conference "The value of the Turkmen Lake Altyn Asyr in improving the environmental situation in the region" is planned to be held in the Caspian city of Turkmenbashi on March 24-25, 2010.
There will be a large artificial lake to remove drainage water in the Kara Kum Desert. According to the project, after clearing the water can be used in the development of virgin stands.
The staff of the organizing committee has been approved.
Organization is assigned to the Ministry of Nature Protection, the Ministry of Water Management and the Turkmen Academy of Sciences.
The corresponding decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov says that the event is held to inform the international community with a value of one of the world's largest artificial hydraulic structures.
