The Azerbaijani Irali Public Union and the Near East University (Yakın Doğu Universitesi) of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Lefkosa held events dedicated to the Novruz holiday.
During the events, Irali announced the opening of a representative office in the region. The office will bring together Azerbaijanis living and studying in Lefkosha, as well as citizens of other countries, the union said.
The event was organized at the Ataturk Congress Center. Guests enjoyed Azerbaijani singer Agshin Abdullayev's performance of classical works and folk songs. Students studying at the Near East University performed national dances and read poems.
Event participants were also informed about the union's activities.
