Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to provide one-time financial aid to World War II veterans, their widows, the families of deceased soldiers, and individuals awarded orders and medals for their selfless work in the rear, the AzerTaj state news agency reported.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to provide one-time financial aid to World War II veterans, their widows, the families of deceased soldiers, and individuals awarded orders and medals for their selfless work in the rear, the AzerTaj state news agency reported.

Aliyev ordered the provision of 500 manat in one-time financial assistance to veterans and 200 manat to their widows, the families of deceased soldiers, and individuals awarded orders and medals, including the badge for defending Leningrad during the blockade of the city.

The Presidential Reserve Fund allocated 8 million manat to execute the order from the 2010 state budget.

The Finance Ministry was instructed to transfer these funds to a special account of the State Social Protection Fund. The fund will provide material assistance to citizens, and the Cabinet of Ministers will resolve any issues arising from the order.
