The process of Georgia's integration into the EU will last for many years, deputy Prime-Minister, State Minister for European Integration Giorgi Baramidze said.

He said that the active participation of the EU in terms of a dialogue with Russia and its support for the sovereignty of the country is important.

Baramidze also noted that the process of negotiations on simplification of visa regime with the EU is actually under completion. The document will be signed in July. Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that negotiations will begin in relation to free trade, which will be a part of an association agreement.

"The process of EU integration will continue for many years. We will continue to cooperate in the development of democracy. Particiaption of the EU in the process of monitoring the elections is also important for them to be held by European standards," State Minister said.

Baramidze stands at this moment at the joint meeting of the parliamentary committees for European Integration and Relations with compatriots on the European Commission's report on EU Neighbourhood Policy.
