Georgia, Tbilisi, June 11 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /

"I am delighted that there is a deep political dialogue and cooperation between Georgia and NATO. It will ultimately lead to the entry of Georgia into the alliance," Georgian Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaia said today in Brussels at the NATO-Georgia meeting.

Defense Minister called the work of the NATO-Georgia commission successful.

The minister said that despite the threats, Georgia successfully implements reforms in the defense sector. "We have taken significant steps in terms of military education. It is essential that NATO continues to assist us in achieving progress towards integration. Participation in international peacekeeping operations is also important for us. Georgia is represented in them by the largest contingent among countries not included in the alliance. I want to believe that our cooperation is based on common interests, and will contribute to stability and peace in the Euro-Atlantic space, " Georgian Minister of Defence said.
