The situation inside the Azerbaijani opposition Azadlyg bloc overshadowed the election issues, chairman of Citizen and Development Party, member of the Azadlyg bloc,
Ali Aliyev, told Trend.
"Over recent days, the situation formed inside Azadlyg bloc overshadowed the question of the establishment of an election bloc," said Aliyev.
Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for early November 7. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held through the majority system in 125 electoral districts.
Opponents of the Azadlyg bloc launched a campaign against the bloc, said the chairman of the party said.
"The credibility of the Azadlyg bloc, its place in society, disturb the opponents of the bloc. The press, under the control of the political circles, has been distributing an exaggerated information about events inside the bloc for a long time. They try to collapse Azadlyg bloc, want to strain relations between the organizations within the bloc," said Aliyev.
Azadlyg bloc unites three opposition parties - Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP), Azerbaijan Liberal Party (ALP) and Citizen and Development Party (SDP).
