President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva has met today Greek ambassador to Azerbaijan Ioannis Metaksas, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva praised the relationship between Azerbaijan and Greece. She briefed the ambassador on the workings of the Foundation. Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva expressed hope that bilateral cooperation would deepen in the future even more. She added the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was always open to international relations and joint projects.
For his part, Ambassador Metaksas underlined the importance of the projects carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The diplomat recalled visit of President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva to Athens last year.
They also discussed how to use alternative energy sources in boarding-schools built at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The Greek embassy will carry out this project in two boarding-schools in Badamdar və Turkan settlements as a pilot project.
The Ambassador said he donated to the Foundation an ultrasound examination machine for diagnosis of iodine deficiency.
