Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski will hold official meetings in Georgia today. He laid a wreath at a memorial to the soldiers who died defending Georgia's territorial integrity this morning, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.
Sikorski will meet with his Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and President Mikheil Saakashvili.
He arrived in Tbilisi yesterday. This is the first visit of an official Polish delegation to Georgia after the presidential elections.
Poland was the initiator of the EU Neighborhood Program and is interested in ensuring its success, Sikorski said in Tbilisi.
"The program also includes Georgia, and we consider it very important to ensure conditions for Georgia's integration into the EU and NATO," he said.
