France will never forget its obligations under the ceasefire agreement signed Aug. 12, 2008, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said in Tbilisi today.

"The conditions and the points of the agreement have not yet been fulfilled," he said. "But we will negotiate the execution of all the points with Russia."

The FM stressed that talks with Russia can contribute to restoring Georgia's territorial integrity.

"Dialogue is better than war, which gives nothing," he said.

Kouchner stressed that the EU will always be close to Georgia, as the country is a part of Europe.

He also expressed his intention to initiate a dialogue between Georgia and Russia at the upcoming OSCE ministerial meeting in Astana.
