Georgia and Azerbaijan stand shoulder to shoulder in their development and nothing can stop this process, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at a joint press conference with the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today in Batumi.

The Azerbaijani President said that two peoples are bound by "the historical memory of friendship."

"I was in Batumi two years ago and now I'm surprised to see what Georgia was able to achieve during this time. I like the changes that your country has made," he said.

Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan has always helped Georgia and stood beside this country in trouble. "Your success is our success, and I can say that today Georgia is interesting for investors, billions have already invested in Georgia", Aliyev said.

Azerbaijani President expressed his satisfaction regarding the fact that the Azerbaijani investors believe Georgia's investment opportunities and actively invest in the development of Georgia. In this regard, he stressed the construction of an oil terminal in Kulevi and SOCAR's filling stations.

"We are bound by brotherhood and friendship ties, we have a common historical memory. Everything must be done to intensify partnership in the future. And oil and gas pipelines projects will not only serve to our people but also to global security, so our peoples will contribute within their powers," President Ilham Aliyev said.
