A group of NATO experts are holding extensive consultations on Azerbaijan, Counselor to the French Permanent Mission to NATO Laure Borgamano said today. The group is also discussing Azerbaijan's integration into the international community.
Azerbaijan must remain open to the outside world, Borgamano said while speaking at a roundtable on "NATO's New Strategic Concept" at the Azerbaijani Presidential Center for Strategic Studies July 21.
She stressed that a recently introduced NATO concept outlines new routes of cooperation between NATO and the countries of the South Caucasus and the Persian Gulf.
"We cannot take part in resolving regional conflicts at this stage," Borgamano said. "There are many organizations dealing with these issues. We can only help by providing consultations and exchanging opinions."The roundtable also addressed NATO's cooperation with the South Caucasus, as well as the organization's role in security and combating terrorism
