UEFA President Michel Platini will make his third visit to Georgia Aug. 9, the Georgian Football Federation (GFF) reported.

GFF President Zviad Sichinava told journalists that the two football officials will discuss the possibility of Georgia hosting the European Cup Finals in Tbilisi in 2012-2013.

The GFF also hopes to attract UEFA investments to reconstruct the M. Meskhi Lokomotiv Stadium. According to the Sichinava, Georgia wants the stadium to meet European standards.

Platini is also interested in the meeting, as the UEFA presidential elections are approaching. Georgia is an outspoken Platini supporter.

GFF Secretary General Revaz Arveladze said on this note that, "Platini's attitude toward GFF and our relationship are well known. We stand in the forefront of his supporters."

Platini will also meet with Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and President Mikheil Saakashvili
