The Uzbek President Islam Karimov offered his condolences to relatives of the victims of fires raging in several regions of the Russian Federation.

"With deep sorrow I perceive the news of fires raging in several regions of the Russian Federation, which cause human casualties, devastates villages and woodlands, causing enormous damage to the state," the Uzbek President Islam Karimov said in his letter to the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

"I ask to convey my sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims and sympathy to all affected by this disaster," said in the letter.

Karimov expressed his hope that measures taken by the Russian President and Government will soon extinguish the fires and begin to eliminate the effects of natural disaster. During a telephone conversation with the Russian President Aug.5, he offered to provide the necessary support and assistance in extinguishing the fires.

Karimov said Uzbekistan with the most sincere sympathy and empathy perceive news on the natural disaster in Russia.
