Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of congratulation to President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on his country's national holiday - Independence Day, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
"On behalf of the Azerbaijani people and on my own behalf, I cordially congratulate you and your people on your country's public holiday - Independence Day. Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations are based on the desire and will of our peoples who for centuries have been connected with each another by unbreakable ties. I am sure that we will consistently continue our joint efforts aimed at further strengthening mutual trust and support of bilateral relations and multilateral ties of friendship, expanding the scope of our cooperation," the congratulatory letter says.
Ilham Aliyev wished Islam Karimov good health, success in activities, the friendly people of Uzbekistan - the peace and prosperity.
