The Academy of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations has marked the new academic year with an enrolment ceremony, according to information posted on the ministry's website.
Personnel from the academy lined up for the solemn ceremony at which the national anthem of Azerbaijan was performed in the presence of the national flag.
Newly enrolled cadets were sworn in.
Speaking at the ceremony, Azerbaijani Minister for Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov congratulated the cadets. He said that the vital role of the institution was to provide highly qualified personnel to manage emergencies in the country.
Colonel-General Heydarov spoke about the challenges which the cadets will face and expressed confidence that they will develop deep scientific and practical knowledge and become patriotic specialists.
