Azerbaijan today will start printing ballots for upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, the Central Election Commission said.

According to the CEC, election ballots will be printed by typographical method in the Azerbaijani Parliament's print shop.

The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) at a meeting Oct.1 approved the text, form, number and rules to prepare ballots.

The CEC chairman Mazahir Panahov will visit the print shop to monitor the process of printing ballots.

According to article 99 of the Electoral Code, the ballots shall be approved by the CEC within 35 days before the elections and prepared at least 10 days before the elections. The number of ballot papers can not exceed the number of registered voters more than three percent. In polling stations, the number of ballots should not exceed the number of voters 0.5 percent and should not be less than 90 percent of the voters.

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
