Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Hidayat Orujov paid a visit to Kuwait on Oct.24-29. During the visit, he was received by Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kuwait told Trend.
Nasser Al-Mohammad said the Kuwaiti government is interested in further deepening of the political, economic and cultural ties with Azerbaijan, and asked to convey his sincere greetings to President Ilham Aliyev, the embassy reported.
In turn, Orujov conveyed President Ilham Aliyev's greetings to Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister. Orujov expressed satisfaction with the Azerbaijan-Kuwait friendly and brotherly relations.
Orujov said the two countries are linked with a number of factors, in which the religious unity plays an important role. He noted that the prospects of development of the Azerbaijani-Kuwaiti cooperation in the religious sphere have been mulled in detail during his meetings.
Orujov expressed his deep gratitude to Nasser Al-Mohammad for Kuwait's support to Azerbaijan's position in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Orujov informed the Kuwaiti official about Armenia's aggressive policy against Azerbaijan, hard situation of more than one million people, who became refugees and IDPs as a result of Armenia's military aggression, and the negotiations on a peaceful resolution to the conflict and meetings in the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
During the visit, Orujov also met with Rashed Abdul Mohsen Al-Hammaad, the Deputy Prime Minister for Legal Affairs, Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, as well as his Deputy For Religious Policy Dr. Adel Fallah, temporary acting Chairman of the State Committee for Waqf Iman Humaid, International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) Chairman Abdullah Al-Matouq, IICO adviser Dr. Shams al-Din Suleiman and Azerbaijan-Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman Walid Musaid al-Tabtabai and discussed prospects of the cooperation.
