Georgian parliament approves Temur Yakobashvili as ambassador to U.S.

The Georgian Parliament approved on Wednesday Temur Yakobashvili as the Georgian Ambassador to the United States. The decision was adopted by 91 votes in favor - unanimously.

The Georgian Parliament approved on Wednesday Temur Yakobashvili as Georgia's Ambassador to the United States. The decision was adopted by 91 votes in favor - unanimously.

The parliamentary majority and opposition voted for Yakobashvili's candidacy.

Prior to this Yakobashvili led the post of State Reintegration Minister. Yakobashvili will replace Batu Kutelia in new position.

Experts believe Yakobashvili has good relations in American Jewry, which he can use in benefit for Georgia, and therefore they appraise the new appointment.
