Head of the Muslim Brotherhood Bloc Mohamed Saad el-Ketatni said the recent Egyptian parliamentary elections were fully rigged.
"One cannot talk about the opposition's victory or defeat as the parliamentary elections in the country were totally rigged," Saad el-Ketatni told Trend over the telephone from Qatar.
A news conference held by head of the Egyptian opposition Al-Wafd Party El-Sayyid El-Badawi noted that no candidates from the Muslim Brotherhood were elected. The National Democratic Party led by President Hosni Mubarak won the elections.
Egypt held parliamentary elections on Nov. 28. The results were released a day later.
Saad el-Ketatni said the elections did not meet democratic standards. Such massive fraud will have a profoundly negative impact on the socio-political situation in Egypt, he added.
He stressed that if the elections were conducted transparently and democratically, then the results would have been totally different.
"Unfortunately, the opposition is silent about the falsification," Saad el-Ketatni said.
According to the opposition figure, all of Egypt's opposition, including the Muslim Brotherhood, will fight against the falsification of the election results based on democratic principles.
