The opposition Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) considers it necessary to amend the charter of the Musavat Party.
"The idea of association is a serious social issue. Certain points arising from the party's charter can be reconciled to implement this idea," PFPA Deputy Chairman Nureddin Mammadli told Trend.
Earlier, Musavat Party Central Executive Office Head Arif Hajili and Ex-Chairman of Musavat Party's assembly Sulheddin Akbar said in an interview with Trend the party can not unite with any party under its statute. Other parties should declare its dissolution in order to unite with Musavat.
Mammadli said if one party makes concessions, the other party must do it in the proper order. So it is possible to reach a compromise.
"If the idea of integration is justified and its implementation is a political will, then all other issues can be reconciled," he said.
According to him, the question of who will dominate can not be discussed during the association.
"The PFPA is a serious organization. We, as other parties, also have our own requirements. If one party makes concessions, the other party in also must do it the proper order. So it is possible to reach a compromise. One can not base on private relations in considering this issue," Mammadli said.
Musavat head Isa Gambar proposed to unite the parties following the course of Rasulzadeh-Elchibey on July 15 at the 21st anniversary event of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan. The Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan reacted first to the proposal. The PFPA decided to join the "Musavat" at the congress held on Sept. 25.
