Jordan held a ceremony today in memory of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The seventh anniversary of Azerbaijani national leader's death was marked at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Jordan. The local community, members of the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Friendship Society and the Azerbaijani diaspora attended, the diplomatic mission said.
Aliyev died on Dec. 12, 2003.
In his opening remarks, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan Elman Arasli spoke about the merits of "Azerbaijan's wise leader" - a world renowned political figure.
Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) President Mahmud Karimov noted the national leader's significant contribution to the development of the sciences and the ANAS.
Video clips about Aliyev's life and work were screened at the ceremony.
