Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a decree on Tuesday to appoint Elyor Ganiev the country's Foreign Minister, a source in the Uzbek government told Trend. Ganiev was heading the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade before being appointed the Foreign Minister and is also the Deputy Prime Minister of the republic.
According to a source, Vladimir Norov, who previously held the post, will serve as the First Deputy Foreign Minister. Abdulaziz Kamilov, who was previously the only First Deputy Foreign Minister, will also hold the post.
Galina Saidova, who acted previously as the First Deputy Minister of Economy, was appointed the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade.
