Iran's Ambassador should arrive at the Dutch Foreign Ministry on Tuesday to clarify the issue of Dutch citizen Zahra Bahrami's execution, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bengt Van Loosdrecht said.
"The Iranian ambassador has been summoned to the Foreign Ministry of the Netherlands on Monday," Van Loosdrecht told Trend over the telephone from The Hague." However, due to lack of responses, he should arrive at the Foreign Ministry today."
The Netherlands has earlier recalled its ambassador to Iran for consultations over the execution of a Dutch-Iranian woman, the Dutch Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
The Netherlands froze diplomatic contacts with Iran after Zahra Bahrami, a 45-year-old woman with dual Dutch-Iranian citizenship, was hanged last month for drug smuggling, a charge that her family says was fabricated after she was arrested for participating in anti-government protests in 2009.
