Romania is ready to render practical assistance to Georgia in its integration into the European Union and NATO, Speaker of Upper Chamber of the Romanian Parliament, Mircea Geoană said at a meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze in Bucharest.
During the meeting the sides discussed the political and economic relations between the two countries. They stressed the importance of cooperation and partnership in various fields and discussed the progress of infrastructure and energy projects.
Vashadze once again thanked to the Romanian side for the resolution adopted by the Senate on Georgia.
According to Mircea Geoană, Georgia after the war with Russia was able to make progress and Romania is ready to intensify its efforts in Tbilisi's approximation with the European Union and NATO.
Vashadze during a visit to Bucharest held a meeting in the Patriarchate of Romania.
