Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has inaugurated a new settlement for 688 IDP families on Thursday in the country`s Goranboy region, the AzerTaj state news agency reported.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has inaugurated a new settlement for 688 IDP families on Thursday in the country`s Goranboy region, the AzerTaj state news agency reported.

The President had conversation with IDP families and posed for photographs.

Deputy Prime Minister, chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov informed President Ilham Aliyev about the plan of the settlement.

The settlement, covering 20 hectares, has twelve 5-storey buildings, a 1360-seat school, 150-seat kindergarten, music school, administrative building and park.

A memorial monument to the Khojaly tragedy victims was erected here.
The Head of State also familiarized himself with the Khojaly secondary School No1.
The school has cabinets of informatics, physics and math, chemistry laboratory, library, workshop, canteen and sports hall.

The photo stand was created in the school reflecting the contributions of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to development of education in the country.

Then, the Head of State laid flowers at the memorial monument to the Khojaly tragedy victims.
President Ilham Aliyev gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
