CoE Baku Office head appointed (UPDATE 2)

Greece's former representative at the Council of Europe (CoE) Constantin Yerocostopoulos has been appointed the CoE Special Representative in Azerbaijan, the CoE told Trend.

The new head of CoE office in Baku will take up hispost at the beginning of March.

Yerocostopoulosbegan his diplomatic activities at the Greek Foreign Ministry. He worked in the diplomatic missions in different countries.

Yerocostopoulosled the EU observation mission in Yugoslavia in 1994. He was the Greek Ambassador to Croatia in 1995-1998and to Italy in 2000-2004.

Yerocostopoulos was thePermanent Representative of Greece to the Council of Europe in 2004-2008 and the CoE Secretary General's Special Representative in Serbia in 2008. He proved himself as an experienced diplomat.
