MP: Agreement on strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Turkey to be ratified soon

An agreement on strategic partnership and mutual assistance between Azerbaijan and Turkey will be ratified by the Turkish Parliament soon, Mustafa Kabakchi, MP from the ruling Justice and Development Party, Head of Turkey-Azerbaijan friendship group of the Turkish Parliament, told Trend.

An agreement on strategic partnership and mutual assistance between Azerbaijan and Turkey will be ratified by the Turkish Parliament soon, Mustafa Kabakchi, MP from the ruling Justice and Development Party, Head of Turkey-Azerbaijan friendship group of the Turkish Parliament, told Trend.

"It is difficult to say the exact date of ratification, it is linked with the Turkish Parliament's schedule, but in any case, it will not take much time. The Foreign Relations Commission has already adopted the decision. Next week it is expected to take a decision to include the draft law in the parliament's agenda, it must be ratified by the President after approval by the parliament," Kabakchi said.The Turkish Parliamentary Foreign Relations Commission has developed a bill on Thursday to approve the Azerbaijan-Turkey treaty on strategic partnership and mutual assistance dated Aug.16, 2010. The Azerbaijani Parliament ratified the document on Dec. 22, 2010. The Parliament received the bill on ratification of the treaty on Dec.8 and the Commission launched the consideration on it on Dec. 24, 2010.
